I read this book and thought it was funny and childish. I asked my husband to read it to our girls, who were 7 and 9 at the time, as part of the bedtime routine. My husband put alot of inflection into reading aloud. It was great to hear the laughter from all 3 of them. I found the book again and bought it again. My oldest is 15 and can not wait to read it again. She has to clean her room first. She is busy cleaning.

Fun Book!

We're big Daniel Pinkwater fans in the house. My husband read this one as a child, and we picked it up this summer so my son could read it (age 7). It's ridiculously silly, full of adventure, and was up to the usual Pinkwater standards.

I only gave it 4 stars because my favorite Daniel Pinkwater (written under the name D. Manus Pinkwater) was Lizard Music and in my opinion, nothing ever could top that!

One of Pinkwater's best. This is a must read for every 10 year old with a sense of humor. Actually, it also entertains the adult who happens upon it. I also recommend "Slaves of Spiegel", "Fat Men in Space", and "Alan Mendelsohn, Boy from Mars".

The sheet music took longer to arrive then I expected but it was what I ordered and arrived in good shape. It seems strange to me that in this day and age there was no option to download a PDF to use while I was waiting for the sheet music to arrive.

A rich, nuanced commentary on a classic work of Vedic literature

The Bhagavad Gita at first seems like a small story from an epic poem, the Mahabharata. It tells about a great warrior, Arjuna, and his talk with Lord Krishna at the eve of a great battle between the virtuous Pandavas and the evil Kurus.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the teacher who brought the Transcendental Meditation technique to the world, has a few things to say about this work. He finds deep and profound meaning in it, and carefully and systematically brings then out in his unique and ground-breaking commentary.

We learn that the knowledge Lord Krishna imparts to Arjuna includes the technique for transcending, also know as Transcendental Meditation. We learn that this technique has been misunderstood over and over again in many different religions and philosophies, especially after the great teachers and saints who started those traditions were no longer around to maintain the purity and simplicity of the technique.

A true Rishi...

The clarity and simplicity with which Maharishi writes his commentaries are magnificent.
I found myself reading the same page over and over, like I was drilling deeper and deeper
into his view of the materials.
I only wish he had done more writings on the rest of the Gita. But for now I have Chapter 2,
verse 45 to sustain me.

The book does take some endurance to get through because it so in depth, but it explains many things in the Bhagavad Gita with striking clarity. If you have never read anything by Maharishi, I think you will be surprised at how easy and positive his writing is. You can sense the positive vibration in his writing.

great tool for building reasoning skills!

This beginning level Balance Benders book is perfect for students in grades two through six. We teach our children at home and we actually sit up at night and do these "logic and algebraic reasoning puzzles" for fun before bedtime! I hope there will be many more versions of this book in the future. We could do these all day and while we have great fun with them, the children are reinforcing important academic concepts.

Here is one paragraph from the book. "The aim of life is to attain peace and happiness. It is hidden in every living being.It is more known to some than to others. But even those who know that the aim of life is to attain peace mistakenly accept sensual pleasures as peace and happiness. The result is more pain and confusion in life". This is a little sample of the book to give you an idea of the authors' amazing insight and wisdom. Love him and this book.

penetrating answers to life's most relevant questions

A beautiful book that allows each person who picks it up to have access to the wisdom and compassion of a master teacher. The topics are universal and highly relevant to each human being who has matured enough to ponder them. This is the distilled wisdom of the ages delivered in response to a genuine seeking.

It is also amazing to me in this day and age that Babaji still gives all the proceeds from his books to the Shri Ram Orphanage. Another example of the generosity of heart that permeates this book.

This is my favorite book by Babaji because it lets you glimpse real letters that he write to people about life topics that we all experience - life, relationships, our spiritual practice and death. I reread these often and find layers of wisdom each time. Priceless.

I had to have a copy

I checked this book out of the library first to see if I liked it and soon decided to get a copy of my own. It is a very good book for beginners. It kept my attention; not a sleeper. Within each chapter there is a "clinical problem", anatomy, technique , pathology, pitfalls, and "where else to look" section, and they are all introduced with key words for the chapter, sonogram abbreviations and relevant lab values.
There are some very good diagrams in the book, but not enough sonography pictures, so you will need to use it with other books or internet resources.
The book covers a wide range of ultrasound topics, from abdominal to OB-GYN, to small parts, vascular and even joint problems. The sequence of the chapters seems somewhat random.
It obviously won't be the only book you will learn from, but it is a very user friendly, easy to read book.
