You say there where no ancient aircraft?

They say there where no ancient aircraft well how is this known? Almost all of mankinds ancient knowledge has been destroyed. Most of europes ancient knowledge and I mean the greeks and to some extent the romans was destroyed in the libery of alexandria. China's ancient knowledge also by a crazed emperor who set out to destroy all the books in China. Yes we have found alot of great ancient Sumerian and Assyian tablets but we dont seem to bother even decoding them 80% sit in store rooms unread. Not to mention only a handfull of people can even read this script. When a man like Zecharia Sitchen comes along who CAN read the script and tells the tales they call him mad. The question is why whould the assyrians take the time to transcribe tousands of false myths? But in the case of India we have not lost are ancient knowledge.
Hindu knowledge IMO has allways been looked down at by the west. We simply can not wrap our minds around the awsome tales the Indians have to tell.(such as the Ramayana,mahabharata ect). Does this make them not true? What do Europeans have from 3000BC to compare to the vedas? Nothing. So if the west has lost its ancient history who can say that Hindu scripts do not contain truth?. On to the book.
Vimanas are ancient air craft that are featured in Hindu books such as the Ramayana,Mahabharata,Puranas and the Vedas along with many other ancient scripts. There is actually info in ancient text on how these ships where built!!! I have allways had great interest in these ships and many accounts in the Hindu tales seem very close to accounts of UFOs. David digs up some good stuff on Virmanas and as allways his books are fun to read. Open your mind and give this book a shot if your into wierd stuff from the Hindu epics.

I bought this book out of curiosity after hearing about various ancient computers (the Antikythera mechanism), and how much knowledge from the past has been lost.
I am not too surprised that ancient builders might have decorated their vehicles as animals. Fighter planes have been decorated as sharks by painting teeth on the sides, and radio-controlled airplanes have been remodelled into such objects as the "flying lawnmower", the "flying stop sign" and a "flying doghouse" to name but a few objects.
This book is worth buying simply for the translation of the
"Vimaanika Shastra" and the description of the ancient Rama empire of India.

Gives translation and comments on ancient aircraft in India.

The author/editor provides us with a translation of ancient texts from India which purport to describe aircraft construction and operation. He then makes comments about the subject, including excerpts from related works.
The point is that, according to Childress and others, the ancient civilization of India had made technological advances equaling and perhaps surpassing our own before it was mysteriously destroyed--perhaps in a nuclear war! I'm dubious, but his evidence is compelling nevertheless.
