Ask yourself what you want this book to do for you

My original reason for buying this book was to prepare for the National Registry written. It gives you what it says it will gives you. The book's divided into section like and other EMS text book airway, operations, cardiology, pediatrics, etc. All the questions it does ask you are things an intermediate provider would know after finishing class.
My only complaint is that this book did nothing to help me prepare for the test. The questions nor the quizzes at the end of each chapter do not resemble National Registry questions at all. When I went to take the National Registry written, the structure and the wording of the questions were not anything like questions I've had from class room tests. Granted I passed on the first try but that was because I had to be able to think out the questions, not because I knew all my dosages or pathophysiology.
In summation: If you're a moderately intelligent person, get a book that that will help you study the actual test, not the knowledge you already know. I highly recommend "EMT-Intermediate Review Manual for National Certification" by Stephen J. Rahm. His questions are practically the National Registry questions and would benefit you the most if you're a bad test take like myself.

Pearls of Wisdom

My spouse used this book after completing an EMT-I program. This book was very informative. This book when paired with a solid EMS program could very well help you to pass National Registry. He passed the very first try, those that didn't use the book failed once and even twice!

Great prep for test and general review

Great book. The format is a no bull approach. Questions, answers and no trick "foil" questions to only make you wonder when facing an actual situation or when testing.
